How To Navigate The Network Page

In this detailed article, you will learn how to navigate your Network page and manage your Connections.

Networking and building relationships is an important aspect to winning jobs and converting a customer up from one project to a recurring client.  The General Contractor Directory add-on tool grants you access to all General Contractors' contact details within your purchased plan region or mileage. This included all General Contractors that are located within your plan area (whether or not they have an active project on the board) or that have posted an active project within your plan area.
 

Network Page

To get to the PlanHub Directory of General contractors, navigate to the "Network" page in your PlanHub account.

 

In the Network page, you have two Main views: PlanHub Directory and Connections. Your Search and filter tools are the same for both views. 

PlanHub Directory: This is a purchasable add-on tool that can be added to your subscription and when purchased, it includes access to General Contractors that have registered an account on PlanHub within your purchased plan. (including their activity, and contact details).

Connections: Visibility of the General Contractor's profile on PlanHub that you are following (full profile access is limited to those that purchase the Directory Addon), and full visibility and editing access to the personal Connections you have added/imported. 

 

Search tools and Filters. 

Use the Search bar to search for a General contractor by name or keyword. 

 

Click on the Saved Filters button to see a list of your saved filters and select one to view/edit or create new filters.

 

Click the Filters button to view the filters currently in place and edit them. 

 

Use the Sorting order option to change the sorting order in your results. 

 

Company Cards/Results

Once you have applied any searches, filters, and sorting orders to align with your preferences, your results will be provided below. Each result is a snapshot of the company profile for the General Contractor's PlanHub account. 

 

If you have a large number of results, scroll to the bottom and click the Load More button to see more companies:

 

Each General Contractor Company Card will have

  • Company name and location

  • Main contact details

  • Tag letting you know if they have posted in your area and/or are located in your area.

  • Link to view Matching trades

  • The option to Follow them (click on the Follow button) and add them to your connections. 

Click on their company card to open their full profile.

General Contractor Profiles

Each Profile has 5 sections: Connection Details, Company Information, Team Members, Activity Feed and Workspace.

Connection Details:

    • Company Name, Company Type, Company Location and the Follow button 


Company Information:

  • General profile information about this company, including the Address, Contact Details, Construction Types, Work Type, Source, and list of any Tags you have assigned to them in our system 

    • General contractors cannot see the tag(s) you assign to their profile in your account.


Team Members:


  • Provides you with a list of the registered users under this account

  • You can Add Team members that are not listed here, click "+ Add Team Member".
  • Message a contact directly by clicking on the Message icon. 
  • View individual contact details, "click View Details"
    • When you expand the user details, you get their direct contact details, they have provided on PlanHub or that you added yourself when you added a team member.


Activity Feed


  • Projects tab:

    • List of all matching project postings this General Contractor has posted to PlanHub 




  • Interactions: 
    • A list of interactions between your company and this General Contractor in PlanHub 


Workspace: 

  • You can add Notes, assign Tasks, and attach Documents to this profile. 
  • All information you add here can only be seen by your team members in your PlaHub account. This means you can use this area to keep internal notes that are private to your company's account. 



 

Connections 

As a Subcontractor you likely have a large number of contacts and connections that you need to manage and keep track of to maintain your relationship with. You can use the Connections tab to keep track of your conversations, notes, tasks, and documents with all your business contacts.

  • Connections includes all the PlanHub companies that you are following, all the General Contractors that have listed your company as in-network, and all the companies you have imported/added. 

Search and Filter Connections

To access your accounts connection navigate to the Network page and click on the Connections tab. 

 

You can use the search bar to search through your connections by company name, contact name, email, or email domain

 

You can also filter your results to quickly narrow down your connections by company type, assigned tags, construction type, or building use (you must select construction type to have access to filtering by building use).

  • Click on the Filters button and select the filters you wish to see in the list of connections. Once you have applied a filter(s) click Submit to see the results.

 

 

The resulting list will be connections that align with your selected filters. To remove a filter, click the "X" next to the filter or click "X Reset" to clear all filters. 

 

Add a Connection:

To add your own Connection click the Add Connection button

 

First we will scan the system to see if your connection already has a PlanHub account. 

 Enter the email address for your contact, and click the "Search PlanHub" button, if they are already registered, click Add Connection 

 

 

You can click "Create Connection" to build out the Company Profile if they are not registered. 

 

When creating a connection, there are required fields and optional fields, required fields are marked with a star or asterisk. Fill in all required fields, and any applicable fields, add any other contacts you want under this Company, then click Submit 

 

Manage Your Connections

In the Connections list you can see the Company Name, Company Type, Connection Type, if there are any Open Tasks, Tags, and the Actions. 

Connection types:
  • Imported Connections: Not registered to PlanHub under the emails you entered and you can fully edit the company profile.
  • Following: This is a registered account on PlanHub and you are following them. You can only add Contacts, and edit Tags, Notes, Tasks, and Documents on these profiles. Editable sections are only visible to your account users.  
  • In Network: This is a registered account on PlanHub and they listed you are a subcontractor that is in their network. You can only add Contacts, and edit Tags, Notes, Tasks, and Documents on these profiles. Editable sections are only visible to your account users.  
To access a Connections Profile so you can view, edit, or schedule/log interactions, click on the Company Name.

Tags: 
  • Because you can filter by Tags, adding tags is a powerful and effective way to sort your Connections and the PlanHub Directory into custom buckets.
  • Click the Edit option in the Company Information to add or remove Tags.

 

Workspace:

Use the Workspace to take Notes, create and assign Tasks, and attach documents. This is an easy and effective way to schedule tasks, log interactions, and store documents associated with this Company.
