# Subcontractor | Project Page
## In this tutorial, you will learn how to view the project details, navigate through the different tabs on the project page, and use the various features.
**Prerequisites**:
1. Create your planHub Subcontractor account (to learn how to create your account, view our Knowledge Base article: [How To Sign Up & Create Your Subcontractor planHub Account](https://knowledgebase.planhub.com/knowledge/-how-to-sign-up-create-your-subcontractor-planhub-account?hsLang=en)
2. Only related to specific instructions below where Takeoff is mentioned - Purchase of the Takeoff Add-On feature would be required for access
Follow the steps below to learn how to view the project page details, navigate through different tabs, and use the various features.
Step 1: Log into your planHub Subcontractor account.
Step 2: To view a project, click **Bid Board** to access your saved projects, or click **Project Finder** to search new projects. Then, select a project name to review its project page.
Step 3: Once on the Project Page, review the header at the top. You’ll see the project name on the left and five icons on the right:
- **Ask AI** – Tap to ask questions about project plans and specs.
- **Assign to a team member icon** – Assign the project to a team member.
- **Shared Notes icon** – Create and browse project-related notes.
- **Save project to Bid Board** icon – Mark the project for easy access.
- **Project Updates icon** – Tap the bell to see updates; a red dot on the bell indicates that a new update is available. 
Step 4: **Review the 4 Tabs**:
1. **Overview** tab – provides a summary of the project, including:
- **About this Project** - provides a brief overview about the project type and size
- **Project Details** - provides specific details related to the value, size, type, status and includes important dates.
- **Trades Needed** - lists the trades needed for this project
- **Market Intelligence** - displays subcontractor activity by trade, allowing you to filter by matching trades to focus on relevant activity. Competitor company names are not shown.
- **Project Fit** - AI-Powered tool that provides responses to a list of pre-existing or custom tailored questions related to your selected trades. - **Project Location** - View the full map to explore the surrounding area and what’s near the project site.
- **General Contractors** - contact information and link to their company profile page with additional details including team member contacts, projects posted and the analytics section showing project trends by project value, construction type, building use, and labor sector. 
- To find the GC faster in the future, add tags.
- Click **Workspace** to add notes, assign tasks, or upload related documents pertaining to this GC.
2\. **Files** tab – shows all shared project files and folders. This section includes:
- **Header row** - displays key details for each file, including the file name, type, date added, general contractor (GC) who uploaded it, and file size. It also includes a Takeoff icon option (if the Takeoff add-on has been purchased). - **Download Selected** / **Upload** - Once you select one or more files, the Download Selected option becomes active in the upper-right corner, allowing you to download the selected files. Click Upload (top right) to add files.
- Hover the cursor over a row to view the quick download icon. Or, click on the three-dot action menu that allows you to download or rename the file. If you uploaded a file from your computer or planHub drive, the menu will also provide you with the option to delete the file.
- **Keyword Search** bar - quickly locate relevant files by searching for terms that appear on their pages. 
- Click on a page number or the document to view it in the File Viewer.
- Pages with matching keywords are automatically highlighted. Use the Zoom and Pan tools to navigate the page.
**Annotation tools** - add text, shapes, stamps, notes and signatures. Download files or click **Start Takeoff** and export your pages (Takeoff add-on purchase required). 3. **Communications** tab – Use this section to track email exchanges with GCs about this project. Email integration setup is required for use. Select the free option from your account page (see our Knowledge Base article for guidance: [PlanHub Email Integration Guide](https://knowledgebase.planhub.com/knowledge/how-to-send-emails-to-general-contractors-directly-from-planhub?hsLang=en)).
1. **Suppliers** tab - use this section to send material estimate requests to suppliers. Your default trades will be preselected, update as needed in the first drop down menu. Review and Edit the matching suppliers from the Select Suppliers drop down menu. Type a message with essential details, then click **Send Request**. Suppliers only see info sent to them and not other recipients.

**Ready to bid?**
Step 1: From *Overview*, *Files*, or *Communications* tab, view the bottom-right corner to select one of three options:
- **Not Interested**: Let GCs know you’re not bidding this project.
- **Intend to Bid**: Signal your intention to submit a bid. The GC will be alerted that you intend to bid.
- **Submit Bid**: Click on this option to submit your bid!
Step 2: Inside the bid window: Select the trade, enter your base bid amount, and type a message. Upload documents via **Browse** or pick from your planHub drive. Next, select the GCs and choose the toggle button option to share your bid with GCs added to this project in the future. Click **Submit** to send your bid, or select **switch to** **Detailed Bid** for more options.
Letting the GCs know whether you plan to bid on a project, or not, helps you stand out to the GC. It allows them to track bid coverage, identify trade gaps, and maintain communication with you for future opportunities.
