Download File Issue? How to Disable Your Pop-up Blocker
Having trouble opening files or downloading content in your browser? You might need to disable your pop-up blocker in Google Chrome for Windows. Follow these steps to let specific sites show pop-ups and access all their features.
Google Chrome (Windows)
- Open Chrome.
- Click the three dots in the upper-right corner.
- Select Settings.
- Click Privacy and Security.
- Select Site Settings.
- Under Content, click Pop-ups and redirects.
- Select Sites can send pop-ups and use redirects.
Allow Pop-Ups for a Specific Website
- Follow steps 1–6 above.
- Under Customized behaviors, click Add next to Allowed to send pop-ups and use redirects.
- Enter the website address and click Add.



- Open Chrome.
- Click Chrome in the menu bar and select Settings (or click the three dots in the upper-right corner).
- Select Privacy and Security.
- Click Site Settings.
- Choose Pop-ups and redirects.
- Select Sites can send pop-ups and use redirects.
Allow Pop-Ups for a Specific Website
- Under Allowed to send pop-ups and use redirects, click Add.
- Enter the website URL.
- Click Add.





- Open Firefox.
- Click the three-line menu (☰) in the upper-right corner.
- Select Settings.
- Click Privacy & Security.
- Scroll down to the Permissions section.
- Uncheck Block pop-up windows.
Allow Pop-Ups for a Specific Website
- In the Permissions section, click Exceptions next to Block pop-up windows.
- Enter the website address.
- Click Allow.
- Click Save Changes.
- Open Firefox.
- Click Firefox in the menu bar and select Settings.
- Select Privacy & Security.
- Scroll to the Permissions section.
- Uncheck Block pop-up windows.
Allow Pop-Ups for a Specific Website
- Click Exceptions beside Block pop-up windows.
- Enter the website URL.
- Click Allow.
- Click Save Changes.





Disable the Pop-Up Blocker Completely
Allow Pop-Ups for a Specific Website
- Open the website in Safari.
- Go to Safari > Settings > Websites > Pop-up Windows.
- Locate the website in the list.
- Select Allow from the dropdown next to the website name
For security purposes, it is generally recommended to allow pop-ups only for trusted websites rather than disabling the pop-up blocker entirely.





TIP: Allowing pop-ups for trusted sites ensures you won’t miss important downloads or features. Always double-check that you’re only enabling pop-ups for safe, secure websites.
