Subcontractors | What happens to Early Stage Projects?
Early stage projects in planHub give you a head start on future opportunities by providing leads that are still in the preplanning or budgeting stages. These projects don’t include plans or specifications, however, they do give you valuable contact details and allow you to build relationships before bidding begins.

Let’s walk through how to access Early Stage projects in your planHub account, review their status, and track them once they move out of the budgeting and planning phase.
Once you have purchased the Early Stage Add-On feature, you will have access to the Early Stage projects list.
Step 1: Open the Project Finder page from the main panel on the left side.

Step 2: Click the Early Stage tab to view upcoming pipeline projects.

Step 3: Browse the list of Early Stage projects and select an early stage project you’re interested in reviewing.

Step 4: Review the Status in the About section. Scroll down to view the project status. Note that this project is still in the “Budgeting/Planning" Phase. Early stage projects remain in this section until their status changes.

Q: Once a project moves out of the budgeting and planning phase, what are the next steps in the Early Stage process within planHub?
A: When the planHub research team receives updates such as a general contractor posting the project, the project being awarded to a specific general contractor, a bid due date being added, the point of contact accepting bids, plans and specifications becoming available, or all required criteria having been met, the project status will be updated and the project becomes available on the Project Finder page.
Step 5: Then, view the Early Stage project by selecting it in Project Finder or from your Bid Board if it has been saved.

Step 6: Review the status update. On the Overview page, scroll to the Project Details section and review the Project Status row for the latest update.
